Waxhaw's Farmers' Market Has Moved!

Waxhaw Famers' Market consists of farmers and artisan vendors proudly growing and making all of their products locally. They come to the market to provide you fresh-from-the-farm goodness and their unique crafting of hand-made foods and specialty items.

The Market is open EVERY Saturday 9am-12pm. Come meet your local farmer!


David G. Barnes Children's Park

Location: 215 W. South Main Street, Waxhaw, NC

David G. Barnes Children's Park is so named in honor of the man who has devoted over 28 years of his career as a public servant as a public school teacher, a Town Commissioner and Mayor Pro Tem. The park is open from 7 am to 8 pm from April 1 til November 1, and 8 am to 5 pm from November 2 til March 31.

JAARS Center

Location: 7405 Jaars Road, Waxhaw, NC

The JAARS Center leads the effort in world-wide Bible translation. It's a fascinating place to visit and learn about the methods used to provide day-to-day support. Tours available. Grab lunch on campus and visit the museums.


Harvey Clay Nesbit Park

Nesbit Park offers soccer and baseball fields for citizens.


Waxhaw Sk8 Park

Location: South Caldwell Street

For skateboard enthusiasts, the Sk8 park is located in downtown Waxhaw on South Caldwell Street, behind the David G. Barnes Park. Hours of Operation are 7 am - 8 pm from April 1 to November 1 and from 8 am - 5 pm from November 2 to March 31. Special closings will be posted on the town website and on the Town of Waxhaw Facebook page. Call the Waxhaw Parks & Recreation Department with questions.


Waxhaw Historical Walking Tour

Join former Commissioner Joyce Blythe and Melvin Faris on a walking tour of the downtown area and hear fascinating facts about the buildings and homes and the people who lived in them.


Cane Creek Park

The Parks and Recreation Department for Union County provides recreational opportunities to the citizens of Union County and neighboring counties. These services assist in providing a healthy community, leisure activities for all age groups, and park venues for a variety of special civic-organized events. The Department seeks to provide, “Something Fun for Everyone!”

  • Spring Kaleidoscope Fest: Kaleidoscope Fest is held each year in downtown Waxhaw in the Spring and celebrates all things art from the fine arts, musical and performing arts, culinary arts, martial arts and more.

  • Jammin' by the Tracks: Kick the summer off right with some great tunes downtown by the tracks on specified Friday's from June-August. For the current schedule, please visit: Click Here!

  • Independence Day Celebration: Waxhaw's Independence Day Parade takes place on Main Street in Waxhaw beginning at 10 a.m. and is attended by over 10,000 enthusiastic revelers.

  • Autumn Treasures: Second Week of October - There is something for everyone during Autumn Treasures. This event features the Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned “Grill’n & Chill’n’” BBQ cook-off. In addition, the town offers live entertainment and booths with various arts and crafts. A kid zone and array of concessions are enjoyed by participants as well.

  • Christmas Parade: The Waxhaw Christmas Parade is a little slice of Americana. School marching bands, hundreds of parade entries, and a visit by Jolly Old St. Nick bring Christmas spirit to all who visit.

The Waxhaw Line Dancers

Join the Waxhaw Line Dancers at the Waxhaw American Legion located at 801 East South Main Street in Waxhaw every Friday night. A fun and friendly line dance club for both beginners and seasoned dancers alike. The club is for all ages and all levels. Lessons start at 7:30 pm (doors open at 7) with open dancing until 10:30 pm.
